SCO is looking for a part-time GIS/Web Support Technician

The State Cartographer’s Office (a unit of the Department of Geography located in Science Hall) is looking for a technically-savvy student to assist with web application development and geospatial data processing.  Check out the posting on the SCO jobs page for more information.   The application deadline has been extended to Monday, April 12th.

We are looking for somone with skills in at least one of these areas:

  • Experience developing web-based applications with PHP, HTML/CSS, Javascript, Flash, or other related technologies
  • Experience with databases and SQL database queries (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Familiarity with web management/content management systems such as Joomla or Drupal
  • Solid understanding of mapping and GIS concepts

The position will pay between $10.50 and $12.00 per hour, with a flexible schedule between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.  To be eligible for this student hourly position, you must be a UW student registered for spring and fall 2010 classes.
