GIS in Public Health Conference Announced by URISA

URISA recently announced plans to hold a ‘GIS in Public Health Conference’ on June 27-30, 2011 in Atlanta.  This specialty conference  will  explore GIS for public health access, processes, and decision-making. The conference was developed as a result of a high level of interest in the ‘public health program track’ at URISA’s annual conference for several years. A dedicated committee of well-known and respected professionals in the field has spearheaded this effort to create a specialty conference to promote sharing of information and networking within the discipline.  Conference Vision: To provide an open and participatory forum for advancing the effective use of spatial information and geographic information system technologies across the domains of public health, healthcare and community health preparedness.
