Geography to hold open house

The Department of Geography (est. 1928), one of the top ranked geography departments in the nation, is sponsoring an Open House on Friday 6 May.

The Open House will run from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and include a wide array of activities including tours of the national heritage landmark building Science Hall, laboratory demonstrations, a careers panel for undergraduates, exciting Pecha Kucha-style presentations from faculty, staff & graduate students, and a student awards ceremony. The Open House will conclude with a reception from 5:00-7:00 pm for all alumni and friends of the department, and include a cake and refreshments in honor of this year’s Graduating Senior Geography Majors!

“We warmly welcome alumni, current and prospective students (and their families), and all friends of the Department,” says Robert Kaiser, chairperson of the Department.

“This is a good time for us to celebrate the end of the Spring term, and learn more about what is going on in Geography, and Science Hall, as we build our exciting future.”

The Department of Geography is located in Science Hall, 550 North Park Street, Madison, WI 53706.
