Introductory GIS Workshop – Sept 30th, 4-6pm

In this two-hour workshop, students will learn the basics of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and will work though an exercise designed to familiarize them with ArcGIS software. The exercise involves working with demographic data for Dane County from the U.S. Census Bureau. By completing the exercise, students will havethe ability to learn about spatial data, tabular data, joining tables and thematic mapping.
The workshop is led by Jaime Stoltenberg, GIS Data & Map Librarian and Karen Tuerk, GIS Certificate Program Manager in the Department of Geography.
UW students, staff and faculty as well as members are welcome to attend.
