Exhibit at the UW GIS Day Expo
Thank you for your interest in speaking or exhibiting at the UW GIS Day Expo. Exhibiting is free and all participants will be provided with lunch and refreshments. Here are some details to help guide you.
LIGHTNING TALKS: 10-min talks on a GIScience application. We will group with like application areas to form 30-min session with 15 min discussion in between sessions. Topics of particular interest are Health/Epidemiology, Emergency Management, Food & Food Security, Economic Development, Government Efficiency, and Transdisciplinary GIS. A couple rounds will be dedicated to Geospatial resources, services and new initiatives at the UW-Madison. This is for a more general audience.
TECHNICAL TALKS: 30-minute presentations geared to a professional audience. Of particular interest are talks about Mobile GIS app development and Open-source GIS tools and software.
BOOTH SPACE: Great Hall. All spaces are approx. 10×10 with an 8ft table. If you need 2 tables, they will be configured in an L-shape. Let us know the number of tables needed and whether you need electricity or a UW NetID to access the wireless internet. Also let us know if you need a poster-board behind your table to display items. Poster-boards are 4×6 corkboard stands.
MAP GALLERY: From the artistic to the technical, submit your maps and posters to the Map Gallery.
SPECIAL DISPLAY – MAPPING THE WISCONSIN IDEA: This is the Year of the Wisconsin Idea at the UW. There will be special attention to geospatial projects that embody the WI Idea. Please make let us know if you have something to share along this theme. We will have a station set up specifically for this purpose or you can display information about your WI Idea project at your own booth.
